Management
Vlad Valtchinov, Ph.D., co-founder, Principal
Vlad Valtchinov brings proven expertise in many phases of technology including enterprise software design and development, IT infrastructure building and integration, R&D, data warehousing and knowledge management, strategic planning and general IT management for biomedical and life sciences. He has a record of technical leadership in building and implementing large-scale image, information management and decision support systems and is fluent in core software development and Internet technologies.
Dr. Valtchinov was also a founding CTO for Medvance Solutions, Inc., a Boston-based healthcare information technology startup developing and implementing software products to help primary care physicians communicate with their patients quickly, easily and effectively. At Medvance, he was responsible for the complete life cycle of the Company's product line.
Prior to joining Medvance, Vlad was CTO of Medicalis Corporation, a successful startup software company in the radiology medical informatics and decision support arena. Before that he was with the Brigham and Women's Radiology Department and Partners HealthCare in Boston, where he held various R&D and clinical IT positions of increasing responsibility.
He also serves on the panel of investigators at i2b2, the National Center for Biomedical Computing Informatics for Integrating Biology and the Bedside. Dr. Valtchinov is also a member of the academic faculty at the Center for Evidence Based Imaging (CEBI), a Center of Excellence at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
Dr. Valtchinov holds a Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from University of Sofia, Bulgaria, and has published more than 30 papers and international presentations in the fields of theoretical condensed matter physics, biophysics, artificial intelligence and genomics.
Mathew Roy, MBA, co-founder, Principal
Mr. Roy has over 15 years experience working with healthcare provider organizations, as a consultant and as an executive, with a focus on strategy development, care model and process redesign, and the integration of physicians, hospitals, and other parts of the care continuum.
Matt began his career as a health insurance underwriter with CIGNA HealthCare. After completing his MBA, Matt went to work with ECG Management Consultants, Inc., where he worked with some of the leading academic medical centers in the country on organizational strategies, operations improvement, and financial turnarounds. After several satisfying years with ECG, Matt left the firm to help start Medicalis Corp., a clinical information systems company focused on improving the utilization of diagnostic imaging services via evidence-based medicine tools.
Prior to NATG, LLC, Matt was involved with Boston HealthCare Advisors, LLC, a small management consulting firm advising healthcare provider organizations and the companies that serve them.
Since Boston HealthCare Advisers, Matt has continued to advise provider organizations and early stage IT and medical device companies with reimbursement strategies, business planning, and venture financing.
Matt has a BA in History from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, and received his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College.

Ken F. Andrews, President and CEO, Histogenics Corporation, Chairman of the Board
Ken Andrews has general management, business development, marketing, sales, and clinical development experience across a broad range of healthcare specialties, including tissue regeneration. He was most recently Vice President of Marketing and Sales, and Chief Commercial Officer at Alkermes. Previously, he was founding CEO at Medicalis Corporation. Among his senior executive positions at biotechnology, pharmaceutical and device companies, he was Vice President of Marketing and Sales of the Tissue Repair Division of Genzyme Corporation.
Mr. Andrews was Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations at Alteon Pharmaceuticals and Vice President of U.S. Operations for Seikagaku Corporation. He began his career with American Hospital Supply as a sales representative and rose in the ranks to Director of Sales and Marketing. He helped lead the creation of the initial sales and marketing organizations at both Genentech, Inc. and Centocor, Inc. He has also been a consultant with Synergy Partners, assessing new technologies and products in the life science industry.
Mr. Andrews graduated from the University of Tennessee with a B.A. degree in business administration.
Stephen N. Davis, Managing Director, The CXO Advisory Group, Director
Steve has 28 years of experience as a senior executive, including COO and CMO roles with P&L responsibility in the computer, software, consumer electronics and Internet industries. He has successfully built, managed, and restructured numerous sales and marketing organizations and introduced over 300 new products into various industries.
Steve is an industry pioneer whose visionary marketing and sales strategies were instrumental in the introduction of two PC industry milestones, the ATARI home computer and Corvus’ OMNINET, the industry’s first true local area network.
In 1989, he founded the Davis Management Group, a company whose proprietary sales management and marketing methodology promoted rapid growth in revenue and profitability for its clients. Steve is an executive, strategist and creative problem solver who conceives, plans and implements new business practices to produce measurable improvements in market position, revenues, profit and shareholder value. His clients have included The Canadian Government, Apple Computer, ATT, Lotus, Symantec, Hitachi, and Kubota.Prior to Davis Management, Steve spent 15 years in senior level positions at major corporations including Qualogy, Corvus Systems, Atari, IBM and GE. Davis is active with many groups that support entrepreneurs and served on the executive board of the WPI Venture Forum. He is a frequent speaker and prolific writer on marketing and sales topics. Davis has given speeches at some of the nation’s leading business and technology forums and his articles have appeared in a variety of engineering and IT business publications.
Steve holds an MBA, as well as an MS and BS in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University.
